Treatment of itching eczema, dermatitis and scaling skin conditions. Balneum Plus cream contains two active ingredients, urea and lauromacrogols. Urea is a substance that is found naturally in the skin, which by its nature is very attracted to water. It is used to help rehydrate dry, scaly skin. Lauromacrogols have the properties of local anaesthetics and soothe and relieve itchy skin.
Like all medications, Balneum Cream can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. These side effects:
- Symptoms of allergic reaction, e.g. swelling, difficulty breathing
- Itching
- Skin redness
- Burning sensation
- Pustules
- Worsening of eczema
If you experience these or any other side effects while using this product, stop use and speak to your doctor or pharmacist right away.

Apply to the affected area of skin using clean hands. Do this twice a day until your symptoms have passed.
Please be aware that this product contains Liquid Paraffin which is highly flammable, keep away from open or gas fires or hobs and naked flames, including candles etc. and not to smoke when using these paraffin containing preparations.
Bedding and clothing should be washed regularly (preferably daily) to minimise the build-up of impregnated paraffin although it may not be completely removed, unless it is washed at a high temperature as paraffin is invisible and can accumulate over time
Avoid contact with eyes.
